* These is our 12 steps to being a Friend in The House of Friends
:: You must be willing to have fun and make new friends. We are here to become an important friend in your life, as we hope you will be with us. We take no more than we can give in The House of Friends. We do reserve the right to deny membership to any site/person that we do not see as appropriate and family friendly. This is not a webring to join if you are just looking for another webring to place on your page.
:: Participation must be given by all friends in The House of Friends, by welcoming our newest friends to the group, as we believe that friends should always welcome others. We do not have a separate committee for this purpose, it is expected that everyone join together for a couple of moments to welcome someone special to our Friendly Haven. To be considered an active member friend, you must also participate by choosing at least one committee. However, you may always sign up for more than one at anytime. The choice is yours to make and we would be more than happy to have you participate in 2 or more Committees.
:: You must have a website to our House of Friends group webring, and your website must be family friendly and safe to young viewers; - consisting of no pornography, profanity, illegal activity, or hate. Discrimination is not accepted, as there are no friendships based under those conditions. There can be no links on your website that promote the above situations.
:: You must be 18 years of age. This is to protect the little ones that surf the internet and yourselves.
:: You must be willing to accept all friends for who they are, and not to push your choices of lifestyle, religion, or your culture upon your fellow friends. As is stated in our Creed, all friends here each bring a unique quality of their own, to our online friendship group.
:: Please do not be cruel, disrespectful, critical, or rude to your fellow friends through any of The House of Friends mailing lists, message forums, chat rooms, or on any messengers (i.e.: ICQ, Yahoo,MSN Messenger, AIM, etc.). Anyone found doing so, will be reported to the Grievence Councel Directors immediately, and will have their membership revoked. This applies to anyone that may do this to you. Please bring it to the attention of the Haven Founders immediately with any proof that you have for documentation. Please use our Notification Form to submit this information to the Haven Founders.
:: You must agree to accept all official email sent from The House of Friends, and agree to reply to that mail within the amount of time stated within the emails. You must also agree to keep The House of Friends Email Group List set on "Individual Messages" only. This list does not generate a lot of e-mail, but is necessary to keep all friends communicating and updated on the group itself. Spam will not be a concern, as we do not accept that as a gift of friendship.
:: You are agreeing to not give out any private information given to you once your membership has been approved and accepted by the Haven Review Board. This includes (but is not limited to) URLs, mailing list information, member information, passwords, etc.
:: If you need to go on a leave of absence, you must fill out an Leave of Absence application or an (LOA), notifying us of your needs prior to your leave (maximum length for an LOA is 30 days). LOA's may last between three days and one month (if a special circumstance arises, then please contact your Haven Director with any questions or concerns). If you have not returned to active membership after your LOA has expired, then you will be considered inactive, and you will be removed from the group and webring.
:: If you are going to be our new friend and have a website, we do highly recommend that you have a Guestbook located on your website as our Haven Friends like to spoil you with gifts and surprises. Guestbook recommendations: Bravenet http://www.bravenet.com Guestbook.com http://theguestbook.com
:: All decisions made by the Haven Founders & Directors are final, as we only have The House of Friends members in their best interest as well as yours.
:: And lastly, Be the best friend that you can be, and treat those, as you yourself would like to be treated :)
